What you need
One big screen
A computer screen, a TV connected to a computer, a smart TV or a projector. Everyone watches it together.
A phone for every player
A phone, tablet or laptop. Nothing to install, a browser is enough.
Up to 50 players can play at once. You, the host, need an account; the players do not.
Building your own game
- Sign up or identify yourself with a Google account.
- Press the button in the top bar New game. The new game appears in the list right away.
- Give the game a name. The auto-generated name makes the game hard to find later.
- Let AI write the clues. On the game page, press AIFill with AI. Describe what the game is about and who is playing. You get a prompt to give to ChatGPT, Claude or another AI. Paste the AI’s answer back, check the board and import it. You can also fill a single topic from the topic edit window.
- Or write six topics with five clues and answers each yourself. You can edit AI-written clues the same way. Images, sound and video you always add yourself – AI writes only the text.
The Jeopardy format: the board holds a statement, not a question — the answer is given as a question. For example the clue "The world's youngest country, independent since 2011" and the answer "What is South Sudan?". How strictly you follow this is up to you.
Running the game
- Choose from the menu My Games and open the game you want to play.
- Press start. A waiting screen opens with the game code in large type.
- Players open on their phones jeopardy.world, enter the code and their name, then press Join game. Players appear on the waiting screen by themselves, no refresh needed.
- Once enough players have joined, press Start game. Latecomers can join mid-game too — the code stays on screen.
- Pick a cell on the board and click it. The clue grows out of the cell across the screen and the answer button opens on the players' devices.
- Players press. Answerers appear on the right in the order they pressed — fastest at the top. The answer is given out loud.
- Score the top player: ✓ adds the clue’s value, ✕ subtracts. Only then can the next player be scored.
- Made a mistake? Click the player's name to score them again.
- If nobody knows the answer — not even you — press the eye button in the clue window. The first player can then see the answer on their device.
- Close the clue and pick the next cell. A played cell stays on the board, darkened.
- Whoever collects the most points wins. The prize is up to you.
The first time a short guide comes up on the board and points out all of these places. You can skip it and, from the button next to the code, ? Guide open it again at any time.
A picture in a clue
- Save the picture to your device. .jpg, .jpeg and .png files work.
- When editing the clue, press add image, pick the file and save the clue.
Audio in a clue
- Find a suitable audio file. To take one from a YouTube video, search for "youtube to mp3" — you will find web tools that turn a video into audio. .mp3 and .wmv work.
- If the file is too long, search for "online audio trimmer" and cut out the part you need. A short clip plays better than a whole track.
- When editing the clue, press add audio, pick the file and save the clue.
A video in a clue
- Open the video you want on YouTube and copy its link.
- Paste the link into the clue's link field and save the clue.
Start and end: add to the end of the link &start=10&end=20, then the video plays from the tenth second to the twentieth. That way you do not have to find the right spot during the game.
